Richard Taft Ives (Dick), age 83 of Coopers Plains, NY went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Marshall and Marion (Taft) Ives.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda Vine Ives; stepchildren: Debra (Frances) Hagar of Addison, NY, Josie Stratton of Painted Post, NY, Bob Miller of Painted Post, NY, Christina (Victoria) Burke of Hebron, MD and Karen Burke of Coopers Plains, NY; nephew, Gary (Angie) Stetler of Pensacola, FL; nieces: Sandy (Michael) Diamond of Newark, NY, Jacque (Eddie) Palmer of Milton, FL; sisters-in-law: Connie (Loren) Oakden of Corning, NY, Mary McCarey and the late James McCarey of Corning, NY; brother-in-law, Jerry (Beth) Vine of Corning, NY; great uncle to many wonderful great nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Dick"; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his loving sister, Nancy S. Patrick and brother-in-law, Edward J. Patrick; and niece, Reegan Keeler.

Dick retired from the trades at Corning, Inc. and just received his 60 year service pin. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care Dick got at the Corning Guthrie Hospital's emergency room and ICU.

Dick was a longtime member of Twin Tiers Christian Church and a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held there on July 12, 2019 at 11:00 am, 36 Beartown Road, Painted Post, NY.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in Dick's name may do so to Twin Tiers Christian Church, 36 Beartown Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870 or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY.

Love you Dad.My heart is sad I want to call you and talk and come see you.I thank god he gave us father's day together.We were blessed you sure loved to cook and baroque.Shared our memories loved sitting out back on the porch with you.Which we were going to do father's day but the rain.Dad god let me know you were getting tired that day in the hospital you held my hand I tried getting you to eat I said come on Dad we got to sit on the porch still you looked at me tear in your eye and lightly squeezed my hand.I wiped your tear said Dad I Love You
Give you a kiss on the cheek.Your home safely in the arms of our Father and your Family.You have a beautiful wife she's taken me under her wing.Mother would love her.We will stay in touch and help her out.We love her.Stub misses hearing your voice and talking the man talk.RIP Dad💙Love Daughter Debra&Son inlaw Francis.
